Revenge of the advice to ...

"never change/touch a running system"

Sooner or later the time will come and we will need to change running systems. Yet, often enough we don't touch them until it's too late, until they break.

So, if that can't be avoided anyways, why not touch it first chance we get? Preferably before anything catches fire? Next to the sheer fear of jepardising operations, a lack of resources is the most common reason. And we just love ignoring what we risk: Systems we could touch and change at any given time without hesitation. A wonderful, such valuable and even very resource-efficient luxury. Ask anybody!

Recently at the fuse box while switching out a still working, but quite outworn cutout ... what cropped up?

Most utterly priceless room simply wasted! Also, wow ... potential for optimisation unlocked!

So, get your hands dirty! Look around, look into it, touch it! Because, from nothing nothing comes ;-)
