Christian Oftl Veigl (COV)
does not belive that technology as an end in itself makes the world better, but enjoys to abstract, to encapsulate and to automate what we can not do as efficient as machines or simply do not like to do.
He's in the business of making lifes easier and more productive by unshackling people from the repetetive, the error-prone and the boring aspects of daily work using to proper tools for the right job.
He developed very different software since the turn of the millenium, as part of dedicated teams, single-handedly and responsible for whole projects. Most recently with Python, Perl, JavaScript. Java, C#, C and C++ before that. Pascal, Delphi, Modula even earlier. Also enjoyed writing some Haskell and Elm.
Responsible for system's administration along the way most of the time, lots of bare metal in the beginning, lots and different virtualisation today. Among others: OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Debian GNU/Linux, Redhat, Archlinux. Also very recently: NixOS. Running various daemons offering DNS, SMTP/POP/IMAP, HTTP/S FTP/S services and what-have-you.
